OPENING WITH EXPERTS ON JUSTICE AND FORGIVENESS. The forgiveness of men, the forgiveness of God, the forgiveness of victims: the double opening event of the Biblical Festival on the banks of the Adige River, scheduled for Thursday 19 May in the auditorium of the Palazzo della Gran Guardia, will run along these lines. A first half (starting at 6 pm. 00), entitled The Incarcerated Pardon and promoted by the SFISP – Scuola di Formazione all’Impegno Sociale e Politico of the Diocese of Verona, together with Alteritas – Interazione tra i Popoli, will see the Undersecretary of State to the Minister of Justice Cosimo Maria Ferri, Maria Clara Rossi, lecturer in the history of Christianity and the Christian churches at the University of Verona, Don Virgilio Balducchi, Inspector General of the Chaplains of Italy and lawyer Federico Reggio, expert in ‘restorative justice’, join the same table. The second inaugural time, entitled …e pace in terra (8 pm), will see the Rabbi of Ferrara Luciano Meir Caro, the Imam of Verona Mohamed Guerfi, and the Archbishop of the Armenian Catholic Archieparchy of Istanbul Boghos Levon Zekiyan, dialogue on the themes of peace and forgiveness, accompanied by three choirs representing the Jewish, Muslim and Catholic Christian religions.
